April is poetry month, so now is the perfect time to release a new edition of The oldest known piece of poetry, or fiction, GilgameshTranslated by Simon Armitage. It’s barely 200 pages, which is nothing, considering what an impressive work it is.
For other exciting work this week, there’s folk musician and disability advocate Glynn Lee’s memoir, It wasn’t meant to be perfectAnd some graphic novels I’m looking forward to: I’m sorry-no By Mari Costa and koharu and minato By Hyaluron and Daruma (a manga). In the YA category, both are soundtrack By Jason Reynolds and summer officer By Rebekah Weatherspoon. We’ve been eating really well this spring.
Other notable books coming out this week include Life of an Upper West Side Stoic by Maria Semple, a Gothic, time-travel story set in Japan, the quirky romanticism of folklore, and more.
