I’m always excited to see what Bookshop.org does next, and I have to say that their latest announcement is pretty wicked. They have partnered with James Patterson to honor the first full-length books published in the US in the past year.James Patterson and the Bookshop.org Awards. The awards remain true to Bookshop.org’s ethos by relying on booksellers for all nominations and selections. First winner of the award-reporter Written by Virginia Evans – is a historical novel that was really in the news last year. The runner-up for the award is Milo Todd’s trans WWII novel, lilac people.

PEN America believes literary translators are underpaid

No wonder only 3% of books published in America are translated works. in a new reportPEN America highlights the unfairness that literary translators experience within the industry. In 1969, PEN America’s translation committee documented how dire this was for literary translators, describing how their “rights have never been satisfactorily formulated.” Then, in 2023, he published a manifesto Reiterating the need for translators to be treated fairly within the industry. And now in 2026, They have published a report Reflecting how literary translators are underpaid, their names are often not even included on book covers.

Dua Lipa to host 2026 London Literature Festival

I know Dua Lipa as “that girl with the bops and the books.” Apart from being a bombshell popstar, she has also been a huge advocate of good books and reading. And, his interests go beyond the superficial, book-marketing trend that some celebrities seem to have indulged in recently.
